The objectives of this study are to determine whether the ACE I/D genetic polymorphism can be used as a marker for risk, severity and prognosis of COVID-19 infections. It is plausible that subjects carrying the ACE I allele are at a higher risk of infection and worse disease presentation and prognosis.

Any subject who presents (or has previously presented) to AUBMC for COVID-19 testing is a potential recruit to the study irrespective of the test result and whether the subject was seen as in- or out-patient.
