Compared with persons who have not had cancer, cancer survivors are at greater risk for developing second malignancies, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, osteoporosis, and functional decline. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) describes counseling on lifestyle modification as one of the 5 main areas of survivorship care for cancer prevention and Quality of Life (QoL) optimization. Adherence to the American Cancer Society (ACS) dietary guidelines was associated with reduced cancer incidence and cancer mortality. This cross sectional study aims to assess the compliance of a sample of cancer survivors with the ACS diet guidelines attending the American University of Beirut Medical Center Outpatient department and private clinics.
