The aim of this study is to compare the incidence, risk factors, and outcome of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients diagnosed while admitted on the floor Vs STEMI patients diagnosed in the Emergency Department at AUBMC over a period of 5 years.

All STEMI patients diagnosed at AUBMC floor or ED from January 1st, 2009 until December 31st 2014 whether followed up or not at later dates are included.

This is a retrospective, single-center study of all STEMI patients that came through the Emergency Department at AUB or were diagnosed on the floors. A total of 600-700 patients have been diagnosed with STEMI between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2014. The patients will be identified using the log book of the cardiac catheterization lab and the medical records at AUBMC. We will review the charts and labs of these patients to identify the parameters and variables found in the attached data collection sheet.

All STEMI patients diagnosed at AUBMC floor or ED from January 1st, 2009 until December 31st 2014 whether followed up or not at later dates are included.

No patient will be excluded.
